Mark & Jean deliver a rollicking musical montage with a high-energy performance that's sure to please both young and old alike! With Jean on guitar and Mark on guitar, ukulele, and kazoo, these two will leave you and your children with a song in your heart, laughter in your belly, and a smile on your face!

Mark Lyons was born in Chicago and grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He learned to play the guitar when he was a student at Cooper Junior High School and received his first guitar at age sixteen. In the 1980s, as a student at the University of Illinois, he began entertaining crowds at coffeehouses and parties, and occasionally performed on radio station WEFT in Champaign. In 1994, he began appearing at the monthly singalongs hosted at Masthouse in Woodstock, Illinois. Here, he found an appreciative audience for his mix of old-time country and novelty tunes, engaging personality and a slightly offbeat sense of humor, and soon he began performing at coffeehouses, open stages, and folk festivals throughout Northern Illinois.

Jean Adaskavich was born in Oak Park, Illinois, and grew up in Roselle, Illinois. She has been singing in choirs, both at school and church, since she was eight years old. Since 1997, she has been singing at coffeehouses, bookstores, and folk festivals in the Chicago area. She also has a strong commitment to the community, and when she is not performing at these other venues, she is singing at nursing homes and fund-raisers for the homeless.

We have been performing together as Mark & Jean since 2000, entertaining audiences young and old with their eclectic musical mix of folk and novelty tunes sprinkled with their warm, engaging personalities and dry sense of humor.
